Help Chris in his battle against cancer.

Hi all. My name is Jamie and I'm reaching out to help my cousin Christopher. On November 16, 2022, at the age of 22 years old, he was given an unimaginable diagnosis. After months of Doctor visits and being misdiagnosed repeatedly, Chris requested a chest X-Ray. With that, it was determined that there was a mass on his chest in front of his heart. He was taken to Chilton Medical Center where a CT scan was done and it was determined that it was a cancerous tumor. Unfortunately, Chilton was unable to assist him, so he was transferred to Morristown Medical Center. After performing a biopsy, the diagnosis showed that Chris had a rare Germ Cell Cancer. After meeting with the oncologist, the family decided that chemotherapy was the best course of action. With that, the journey began!

It's been 4 months of consistent hospital stays. Four rounds of chemo with 6 unexpected additional stays at the hospital with neutropenic fevers. Chris battled tough nights of high anxiety, depression, separation, and being isolated from his family and the outside world. When my aunt and uncle talked to him on the night of his diagnosis, Chris stated the following:

"I don't like to be called brave. Brave is when you have a choice. Cancer didn't give me a choice. I prefer the word resilient to guide me on this journey. Resilience is required to keep pulling myself up when I want to quit...and I'm not a quitter."

This statement is the reason why we love Chris. He is a humble warrior and asking for help is not in his nature. He has loved and supported so many people in their darkest moments, as well as celebrated them in their happiest. It's our time to give back to him and his family to help keep him fighting this beast we call cancer.

In continuing this journey, his next phase is open heart surgery. The location of the tumor cannot be removed laparoscopically, which brings a whole new phase of struggles. In the next few weeks, he will undergo major surgery to remove the massive tumor in front of his heart. Currently, the medical bills are pouring in and will continue to as the surgery approaches.
We are asking for help. Any donation will help with the burden of the medical bills to take the stress off the family while Christopher recovers. Thank you all in advance and please keep my Chachi in your prayers.
