Help Chris Help April

Donation protected
Our beloved April (P/P Dilly) has been in the hospital for nearly 3 months now, working her hardest to recover from a traumatic brain injury. She has made some remarkable progress but is still struggling a great deal as well. She continues to work on her speech, physical body movements (such as standing, walking, etc.),and other day to day activities. Recently, it's been discovered that her vision has taken a great deal of damage from this injury as well.
Her mother, Chris, has taken the weight of all of this on her shoulders. Next to the stress and hardships she's been working so hard with April to overcome, she has also taken on the complete financial burden of her lengthy hospital stay, her physical rehabilitation services, and other resources, such as magnification equipment to help her begin to see again.
We are asking for donations during this time to try and take a little bit of the stress off her plate so that she can remain focused on supporting April in her recovery.
Anyone that knows this family, knows how much love and light they bring to this world, and they are more than deserving of a little help from all of us.
Any amount helps immensely. <3

6/20/21 -

This post deserves a much needed little update.
April was moved out of St. Mary’s Friday March 12th, to Bayview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Redwing, at this point in time, with no release date.

Here is a statement from her absolute angel-of-a-mother today..

“She's making good progress with walking and standing and balancing on her own. Breaking a sweat( you all know how much April loves to swaet... ) doing crunches and stationary bike with a good amount of resistance. Eye appt recently showed "significant improvement" since February! Big BIG news. We ordered her a new pair of glasses and hope that will aid her more with seeing even better and she will continue to improve. She played Bingo(with assistance) for the first time the other day and cleaned house! One every single game! Haha”

April still has limited mobility and requires assistance to stand, get dressed, shower, etc etc. She is using a sit-to-stand apparatus on wheels to maneuver around. Although her sight has made improvement she still cannot see well, we’re hopeful the new glasses will continue to help her vision improve! Her speech has also been a struggle, unless you can read lips really well, it’s easiest to communicate with yes and no questions although, her mom has got it down! Mother’s always know best though

Currently her mom would like to use all the wonderful donations to buy her the Bose music glasses so we can reconnect her with music (if you knew April you knew how much she loves music), and a lightweight iPad with handles for her to be able to hold onto and have a screen closer for her to see. Also, just for life. Chris has made being with april everyday her main priority every single day since the incident, and she hasn’t faulted on that one time, we all maybe wish life would pause for a bit, but it doesn’t.

I, her family, and her friends want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all the kindness and generosity of everyone who’s donated and continues to. It helps

If anyone would like to send her any sweet cards/flowers/balloons/ anything to brighten her day (she absolutely loves it!!) her direct address is
