Help Chris McNamara heal by reducing money stress

Donation protected

Chris was recently diagnosed with Metastatic Squamous Cell Carcinoma caused by HPV (Human Papillomavirus). After spending 6 days in the hospital recovering from his surgery to remove the tumor and lymph nodes involved, his family discovered that his insurance will not pay as much as originally thought. We are reaching out for help to cover his mounting medical bills.

Chris has spent much of his life serving others. He is one of those guys who is always there for you - whether you are building a shed or just need someone to talk to, he is never too busy to help. After high school graduation, Chris joined the US Army and proudly served his country with the HHC 5/21 Infantry for 3 years and 7 years in the National Guard with Bravo Co 2/159 Infantry (MECH). He then joined the Border Patrol for a short time but was forced to resign after being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. After two major surgeries over 1 year and a year of healing, Chris regained his strength and was able to work again, choosing jobs based around serving others.

Chris and his family moved to Oregon from California in 2015 A few months ago, he discovered a lump in his neck. After doctor’s visits and an MRI, his cancer was diagnosed. He has remained positive and is determined to beat this new medical challenge. He is strong, both in personality and conviction, but he is unable to work while undergoing his treatment. He began radiation therapy today, while the bills from his surgery, MRI, and biopsies are beginning to roll in.

Frustratingly, the VA has denied him any medical help and his insurance only covers a percentage of the expenses. Between the medical bills and the lost income from not being able to work right now, plus the burden that the treatment will put him through physically, there is a lot of stress to bear. He needs this life-saving treatment, and still has a wife and children to support. I am reaching out to the greater community to help Chris, who has spent so much of his life helping others. Please consider making a donation to assist Chris and his family get through this difficult time.
