Help Chris get to his brother, who has leukema.

This is Kari Kephart. My husband Chris Kephart has one brother, Brian. He has been sick the past few weeks. After two 911 calls and a dentist visit. The hospital finally decided to admit him. Shortly after, they have diagnosed him with acute leukemia. They transferred him to Omaha UNMC. They did a marrow biopsy earlier today to see how bad it is. But they do know it isn't looking good. He is really sick. Chris and Brian only have each other. Both their parents died young.

Here is where they (we) need some help. My car quit right before christmas and Chris's car is in the shop. It's ready but we have been broke. With Brian so sick Chris has GOT to get to Omaha to be with him. Chris's fmla won't cover a brother being sick and dieing, even though it is his only blood relative alive (so effn dumb) Chris is still trying to get VT to covere him so won't get fired while he is in Omaha. My job is ending this next week and I don't have another one yet because I don't have a car. I am finally going to apply for ssdi but that will take awhile. I tried to get unemployment, but I think the covid unemployment has screwed my chances. I'm still looking into it. We hate to even put this all out there. We wouldn't if Brian weren't so sick. If anyone can help get Chris to Omaha for and stay for at least a few days. Gas money a hotel room. Anything really. I see so many ppl start go fund me's and I didn't ever think we would need one. Please if you can't help, keep them both in your thoughts. They have already lost so much. We understand what being broke is so don't feel bad if you can't afford helping.
