Christopher’s life long dream has always been to become a firefighter, for as long as I can remember this has always been his answer when asked “what do you want to be when you grow up?” All he’s ever wanted to do was “save people”

I worked hard as a single mom to get him access to the resources and programs he needed to achieve this goal. It hasn’t been the easiest, but it’s been worth every minute and every sacrifice.

Chris joined the fire cadet program as a freshman and is now a senior in highschool where he is currently obtaining his EMT certification through a dual-enrollment program with Miami Dade College. He’s completed over 100 ride alongs with thousands of hours serving our community as a fire cadet. He’s currently a shift Captain for the cadet program and has participated in numerous cadet competitions proudly representing Miami Dade. He’s also a part of the Cadet Honor Guard where he has presented arms at several events through our county.

They say “it takes a village” and man am I thankful for mine. I’m forever grateful for the cadet program as they have helped me raise my son into the honorable young man he is today. I’m thankful for the opportunities and all the men and women who not only selflessly serve our community but also help to inspire and motivate our youth and help keep them on track.

Chris has been accepted into one of the best fire academy programs in the state but unfortunately financial aid will not cover these costs.

I come to you today as a mom just trying to help my kids dreams come true, I humbly ask for your help in doing so.

He’s always been a hero in my eyes, but now he gets to become a real life one with our help.
