Help Chris Gardiner recover after tragic accident
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Matt and I'm fundraising for a good friend of mine, Chris Gardiner. Chris and his brother Ron were involved in a vehicle accident on the night of 1/11/2023 on highway 93 near Kingman, AZ on their way home to Las Vegas, NV.
As Chris and Ron were driving on the highway, a pickup truck rolled through a stop sign to cross the road, forcing Chris to slam on the brakes before ultimately t-boning the truck on its passenger side while still going approximately 45-50 mph.
The whole front end of the vehicle was destroyed in the initial impact and the airbags were deployed. Chris was severely injured but was able to make it out of the vehicle and roll himself into the dirt median, knowing that they were sitting ducks in the middle of the highway. Ron, although conscious after the initial impact, was unable to make it out of the vehicle, even with Chris yelling for him to get out.
Just seconds after Chris made it safely to the median, a vehicle slammed into the passenger side of Chris and Ron's car at freeway speeds without even touching their brakes, killing Ron instantly and sending their car 100 yards down the highway.
Chris suffered severe injuries to his pelvis and was airlifted as a trauma patient to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, while Ron was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.
Chris loved his brother Ron more than anything. He was more than a brother, he was his best friend and roommate, and they were always there for each other through all the good and bad times. Chris and Ron relied on each other in so many different ways, and there is suddenly a massive hole in Chris's life that will never be filled.
I am starting this fundraiser to help Chris get back on his feet after this tragic accident. He is currently at Sunrise Hospital awaiting surgery, and when he is discharged his whole world will have changed. He will be responsible for his brother's funeral arrangements, have tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills, no car, limited disability income, and will be paying Ron's share of the rent and utilities for the foreseeable future.
Chris is one of the most caring, genuine, and generous people I ever met. He would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need. I know he is hurting and nothing can bring his brother back, but anything to help him get back on his feet and cover excess bills would go a long way toward putting his life back together. Anything helps!
Chris would like to remind everyone that life is precious and that things can change in a matter of seconds. Hug your loved ones, tell them you love them and don't take any time spent with them for granted.
