For any of you who know Chris Frey, you know that he is generous and thoughtful and goes out of his way to help others. Now, he needs our help.
On February 21, 2021, Chris was hospitalized for severe stomach pain. He was admitted to Bronson Battle Creek and underwent a battery of tests. He was then transferred to inpatient care at Bronson Kalamazoo for further testing. Upon release from the hospital, Chris' primary care doctor told him that he has a mass and it is likely pancreatic cancer. The doctor told him to "get his affairs in order" and make an appointment with the cancer care center. However, they also sent him for a biopsy to confirm the cancer diagnosis and prepare for treatment.
Chris is retired and has no health insurance. The bills have already started to accrue from his inpatient stay and all of the tests, lab work, radiologists to read the tests, medications administered during his stay, etc. And it appears that he is going to need ongoing treatment with the cancer center. Because he is married and his wife works, Chris doesn't qualify for any kind of financial assistance.
As Chris was awaiting the biopsy results, his wife Tracy was rushed to the hospital after a CT scan showed that her appendix had ruptured. She had emergency surgery on March 10, 2021. She is a miracle because the doctor said that her appendix had ruptured and actually fallen off, but that her body had created a wall around the infection to contain it from spreading throughout her body. She spent three nights in the hospital.
Although Tracy has insurance, she still has deductibles and copays, and those combined with Chris' healthcare costs are completely overwhelming.
Tracy and Chris are both humble and do not ask for help, they are the ones who want to be providing the help to others. So I set this up to help them and ask that you please help as you can and share with others. All financial assistance will go directly to paying their healthcare bills.
