Help My Brother Chris Fight Cancer

It breaks my heart to share that my brother, Chris, has been diagnosed with high-grade B-cell lymphoma — a very aggressive form of cancer.

About 15 weeks ago, he started having trouble with his voice and was treated for laryngitis. After many appointments, speech therapy, and no improvement, further testing finally revealed something none of us were prepared for — a large mass near his aryepiglottic fold. The mass is pressing on his airway and he’s had terrifying moments where he’s struggled to breathe.

A recent PET scan showed another lymph node that has also become involved. Chris began chemotherapy today, and he’ll be receiving treatments every three weeks. It’s been an overwhelming and emotional time for our whole family.

Chris is one of the most caring, hardworking people I know. He’s a single dad who adores his daughter, and everything he does is for her. Unfortunately, because he’s an independent contractor, he doesn’t get paid time off or sick leave. That means while he’s fighting for his life, he’s also worrying about how to keep up with bills and take care of his little girl.
