Help Chris Fight Stage 5 Kidney Disease: Your Support Means the World!!

For years, Chris and I have been in and out of the hospital, searching for answers to why he was feeling so sick. On January 7th, we finally received the devastating news: Chris was diagnosed with Stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease. At that time, his kidneys were functioning at just 17%. For reference, kidney failure is defined as having less than 15% kidney function.

Despite making significant lifestyle changes, Chris’s condition has continued to worsen. He is now in Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease (Kidney Failure), with his kidney function at less than 10%. Over half of his kidneys are permanently damaged and won’t recover. In June, his symptoms worsened, and he began dialysis immediately. Since then, he’s been in and out of the hospital, facing multiple surgeries and complications.

Along with the physical and emotional toll, the financial strain has been overwhelming. We’ve started the process to get Chris on the transplant list, and we’re hopeful about a possible living donor match, but this has all happened very quickly and unexpectedly. Both of us have had to take significant time off work, and once Chris undergoes his transplant, we will need even more time away to focus on his recovery. The mounting medical expenses are already difficult to manage, and they’ll continue long after the transplant.

Chris is an amazing man—he’s been a coach, mentor, and friend to so many. His strength and positivity in the face of all this has been inspiring, but right now, he needs our help. We’re reaching out to you, our community, in this time of great need.
