March 2023: Our wonderful friend Chris Quesada is once again facing some serious health issues, and we are asking for your help to raise funds for his next round of cancer treatment. On Tuesday, March 21st, 2023, Chris was rushed to the hospital with a brain bleed. During surgery, it was discovered that the bleed was caused by active cancer called leptomeningeal metastases. This is an extremely rare spread of cancer and cannot be treated with traditional chemo and radiation.
History:
Chris is a fighter, and has been treated for various forms of cancer on and off since March 2020:
- March 2020: First diagnosed with Stage 3 Testicular Cancer that had spread to his abdomen, lungs, and lymph nodes at the base of his neck.
- October 2020: After finishing the first round of chemo, the cancer came back but was still confined to his lymph nodes and lungs. He then had to go through two cycles of high-dose chemotherapy with stem cell rescue.
- April 2021: Chris underwent RPLND surgery to remove retroperitoneal lymph nodes. This surgery also resulted in Chris losing a kidney.
- May 2021: Body scans came back clear of cancer.
- August 2021: Chris got gamma knife radiation on a brain lesion located on his left frontal lobe.
- January 2023: Chris had a seizure due to the lesion on his left frontal lobe. This lesion had been steadily growing since April 2022 and turned out to be active cancer once again and not post-radiation effects. This lesion with active cancer was able to be removed.
- March 2023: Chris was rushed to the hospital due to a brain bleed that was caused by active cancer, leptomeningeal metastases.
Our Goal:
Chris’ family and friends are asking for your help to raise $50,000 to help with costs for treatment and incidentals related to Chris’s treatment and care.
Anyone who knows Chris won’t be surprised that he is handling his latest recovery from surgery with incredible strength. With your support, we can try to alleviate some financial strain for Chris and his family. Please share this fundraiser with your network.
