Chris Ferguson is first and foremost a man of love. He and his wife, Katie, have both dedicated their lives to inspiring, molding, and educating the children of Houston, Texas. Chris is a Youth Pastor at Chapelwood Methodist and Katie is a 3rd Grade Teacher at Harmony Science Academy. Their two sons, Callen and Barrett, are both under the age of 3.

On October 14th, 2016 their family was struck an awful blow. Chris suffered 4 strokes brought on by a bacterial infection growing on his heart. This was sudden and without warning. He is 28 years old. Chris has been immensely debilitated. He has full paralysis on the right side of his body, which has left him unable to use his right arm or leg. He also has severely slurred speech. Chris will require Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy in order to regain control of his body and reclaim his life.

This will be a long journey for Chris, Katie, and their entire family. They are facing a multitude of hurdles and one of their largest needs is financial support.

In addition to the loss-of-income from Chris being unable to work, Katie has had to limit her working hours so that she is available to support Chris and her boys. They will have large hospital bills the cost of which does not include therapy at a stroke rehabilitation center. The cost of rehab is $3,500 per day. Chris needs 6-8 weeks of extensive rehab. It is also likely that he will need a heart valve replacement surgery. All of this rehabilitation is essential for Chris to be able to return to the life that he once knew.

The goal we have set will not cover all of Chris and Katie's financial needs, but we hope this will provide some respite from the storm they are trapped in. There can be so much darkness and heartache in this world, and we have prayers of thanksgiving for all the Light we see.
