Help Chris Ellis After Unjust Conviction
Donation protected
As I write this, It’s Christmas Time. The time for giving and receiving, and also to realize the Hope, Joy, Peace and Love of the season.
My brother, Chris Ellis, was incarcerated for 30 years for a crime he did not commit. This summer, his conviction was vacated and he was released, thanks to the work of his attorneys. We are all truly grateful.
A judge ruled that he was unjustly convicted. The story made it to the media and you can see one account here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCbCoQBP4BA
However, the District Attorney is considering a new trial. Chris and his lawyers are currently trying to get the judge to dismiss the indictment and prevent the District Attorney from retrying him.
During this time Chris cannot get a job. That means he cannot support his wife and look after their home as he would like to. Chris has been told by HR Depts that they cannot hire someone with a pending criminal case.
Chris is grateful for the support he received from family during his time behind bars and that he continues to receive, but they can only do so much. So I am appealing to you to help Chris Ellis in any way you can, small or large.
And of course, your prayers are always needed and welcome.
