Help Chris defeat rectal cancer.

Hello everyone my name is Chris Gorski I am a 60 year old male who one year ago finally found the love of my life. I also just graduated last August at 59 years of age with a masters degree in clinical mental health counseling and was a practicing mental health therapist working with individuals, couples, veterans, children as well as families when I was recently diagnosed with rectal cancer.

About 3 months ago I started experiencing what seemed like irritable bowel syndrome. It then progressed to having blood in the toilet bowl and as many as 7-8 bowel movements a day. I was not able to leave the house or even go to work since there was often no notice when I would literally have to run to the bathroom! I then had a FIT test to test for blood in my stool. It came back positive. I then met with a colorectal surgeon who did an exam and told me that he strongly believed I had rectal cancer which led to more testing which confirmed that I did have rectal cancer.

Since the cancer has been detected early I have a 85 percent chance of defeating it by traveling outside the state of Oregon, my home state to the state of Arizona for specialized treatments that will last at least 3 months and could take up to a year to complete.

Since my insurance does not cover treatments outside of the state of Oregon I will have to pay out of pocket for my living expenses and medical treatments.

I am writing to you all today to ask for your support in helping me with the costs of housing while in Arizona 3 months to a year, utilities, food, medical treatments with all that entails. All funds raised through this campaign will be used exclusively for those purposes.

Unless I can find someone to temporarily move into my apartment in Beaverton Oregon before we leave for Arizona at the end of June we will have to pay double rent which we cannot afford. Our rent here in our 2 bedroom apartment is 1490 a month plus utilities. We have been desperately trying to find affordable housing in the Phoenix Arizona area for people diagnosed with cancer but even through hospitality houses who house only cancer patients charge 50-60 dollars a night! which equates to 1500 to 1800 a month! So with your support we will have a place to stay long term since the treatments will take at least 3 months and as long as a year.
