Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this. My name is Jeff Martin, my best friend Chris Hess was diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the liver back in 2020. He, along with many of us, struggled with weight his entire life. During genetic testing, they discovered that he also has a gene that increases the risk of fatty liver and cirrhosis. The fatty liver has turned into NASH (Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis), and has now progressed to full-blown Cirrhosis of the liver. He needs a transplant ASAP. He has recently become very sick with complications to his kidneys, fluid build-up & retention, along with constant pain and exhaustion. In order for Chris to receive the living donor transplant that will save his life, he will need take an extended leave of absence from his job. Although there may be a small amount of disability paid to him, this is not guaranteed, likely will take a while to be approved, and won't be enough to pay all of his monthly bills. Getting back to a healthy state will be an long and arduous challenge for Chris. Thankfully, health insurance is covering most of his medical costs so far, but his living costs can no longer be paid by him. Please donate what you are willing & able to, any amount is greatly appreciated. Feel free to message us with any questions or concerns.
For those of you who already know Chris Hess you’re definitely aware that he is an extraordinary human being. For those of whom do not, Chris is a true creative and mega-talent. He’s been drawing, painting, writing, composing music, and playing a multitude of instruments his entire life. He currently works as a graphic designer and is engaged to be married. He is also the loving father of a beautiful 8-year old girl. He has no family left, but thankfully, he has an amazing Fiancé, and a very tight-knit group of long-term friends acting as his advocates.
