My name is Chris Clough and on Halloween I was admitted to ICU for a week! I have type 1 diabetes, but I have now been diagnosed with Addisons Disease. I was admitted to ICU due to a critical sodium level that started to effect me neurologically and effected my muscular system. After a few days in ICU I found out that my adrenal gland was not working and had to be put on steroids, which is dangerous for a diabetic. I have been out of work since Halloween, with an unknown date to return to work! There are multiple doctors appointments that I will have to go to, to try and figure out the best treatment plan for both diseases! While I was in ICU, my wife had to be out of work because I was not able to make medical decisions for myself. She was off for 2 weeks total, because I was still very weak the week after I got out of ICU. Due to us both being out of work, we have bills piling up and we have copays for appointments that we are having trouble covering. We also have 4 kids and having trouble with Christmas!
