Celestino isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a way to honor my roots, my love of seafood, and to share my story through food made with heart.

My name is Christopher Martinez. I was born in San Diego but grew up in Sinaloa, Mexico, surrounded by beaches where fresh seafood was part of everyday life. One of those places was Celestino—a beach known for its oysters and fresh mariscos—where my love for the ocean and what it gives us began.

With Celestino, my goal is to bring the sea to the mountains and share that style of cooking with the local community through a fresh, healthy menu made with high-quality ingredients.

For the past five years, I’ve been cooking in Idyllwild through pop-ups and special events. Thanks to the support of this community, we’re finally taking the next step—opening a permanent home where I can share my food.

Opening a restaurant comes with high startup costs, including remodeling and rent. With the goal of opening this spring, I’m asking for your support to help make this possible. Any contribution truly helps.

Celestino no es solo un restaurante. Es una forma de honrar mis raíces, mi amor por la comida del mar y de compartir mi historia a través de comida hecha con el corazón.

Mi nombre es Christopher Martinez. Nací en San Diego, pero crecí en Sinaloa, México, rodeado de playas donde los mariscos frescos eran parte de la vida cotidiana. Uno de esos lugares fue Celestino, una playa conocida por sus mariscos y ostiones frescos, donde realmente comenzó mi amor por el mar y lo que nos brinda.

Con Celestino, mi objetivo es traer el mar a la montaña, compartir ese estilo de cocina con la comunidad local con un menu fresco, saludable y con ingredientes de calidad.

Durante los últimos cinco años, he cocinado en Idyllwild a través de pop-ups y eventos especiales. Gracias al apoyo de esta comunidad, por fin estamos dando el siguiente paso: abrir un hogar permanente para compartir mi comida.

Abrir un restaurante implica altos costos iniciales, incluyendo remodelación y renta. Con la meta de abrir esta primavera, pido su apoyo para hacer esto posible. Cualquier aportación, por pequeña que sea, realmente ayuda.
