HELP CHRIS BOTTOMLEY FINISH HIS 6TH STUDIO ALBUM

Hello Music Lovers!

My name is Chris Bottomley. I am the recipient of a Unisong International Songwriting Award in 2005 for my song 'Belize City Bakin’ and I have independently released 5 studio albums. I need your help in finishing ALBUM #6.

BACKGROUND & PROJECT INFORMATION

In February 2021, I had the pandemic blues, and all of a sudden a bunch of happy roots-rock-reggae songs started pouring out of me, saving me from a dark spiritual oblivion. Throughout this period I also began writing and recording songs that were a return to my rock and roll roots. All of these songs began to slowly take shape during the long, cold, Canadian winters. One day, I realized that some or all of these songs could fit together on a new album. Three of the early songs I decided to put out as singles -‘Lonely Days’ (2020) ’Summer’ (2022) & ‘Pull It Together’ (2023)

What started as a solo album eventually expanded to include long time friends Russ Goozee as Recording Engineer, Great Bob Scott on Drums, Richard Underhill and Perry White on Sax, Steve Donald on Trombone (Leroy Sibbles) Bryden Baird (Cirque de Soleil, Feist) on Trumpet, Malagasy maestro Donne Roberts on Guitar, Russ Goozee on Keys, and Russ, Kathryn Rose and Safoura Safavi (Abjeez - Sweden) on Backing Vocals.

Now, with 27 songs that I've almost finished mixing, it has morphed into A DOUBLE ALBUM! I can't wait to share them all with you!

These days, the music granting system is slow, with no guarantee that you will receive funding. I don’t have the money to complete this project all by myself. Therefore, the ONLY way to complete this album now is to ask for help from my friends and fans. That's what this campaign is for.

For this campaign, here is where the money would go towards wrapping up the album:

Engineer/Final Mixing: $2,000

Mastering: $1000

Musicians Session Fees: $2000

Vocalists: $1000

Photography & Design/Layout: $1000

CD liner notes, printing and CD manufacturing (small run pressing): $1500

Misc. costs: $500

HST where applicable: $1000

Costs associated with marketing for the album (publicity, radio promotion, etc.) will be covered by me.

I plan to finish the final mixing and mastering of all the recorded songs by the end of June, Design and Duplication in July, and a September 2024 target for the album release.
