Hi, I'm Chris, aka Catastrfy. I've been a geek since the early 70s (Dark Shadows & Star Trek TOS).

I'm a genealogist and researcher and I'm the creator of A Celebration of Stormé DeLarverié. I spent a few years researching her and made the site in her honour and in the hopes that all the incredible good she did would not be forgotten.

Last year I was able to connect the Oregon Trail grave of Sarah Ann (Campbell) Thomas at South Pass, WY to her husband, sons, parents, and siblings, who all made it safely to California. A brief bio is here: Sarah Ann Thomas

I did recently make this lantern, which I love!

I'm severely disabled & can't do much physically at all anymore. I'm too hard of hearing to use the phone and I've been completely housebound for many years. Which means my only way of "seeing" family and friends is on the computer.

Here's my nest where I rest most of the time! My and Boo's monsters, Hello Kitty, Dragon, Reaper, and Hello Kitty Halloween pillow! (Bonus Deadpoolish bullwhip, my first new one since 92/93!)

The reason for the fundraising is that we've been having power outages here, and even though we DO have and use a surge protector, my video card died.

Paul lent me his, leaving him with no working computer (he's also severely disabled & housebound), thinking it would be temporary because he thought we had a spare that would work in my computer.

But turns out we don't.

Paul says a nvidia geforce rtx 3050 would work. It's not as good as my old card (a 3060), but it costs a lot less.

It's available on az for $200. Getting a 4 year protection program will be $39. I added 3.0% for feeds (2.9% + 0.30/donation)

It would make a huge difference for us to each have our own computers again so that we can each see our people and feel less isolated and alone.
