Help Chris and Lori Rebuild Their Home Together

One of my greatest friends for over 40 years, Chris Donnelly is known and loved by many within the punk, hardcore, and funk communities through his membership in bands like Sluggo, Gang Green, Shag, the Stabbing Jabs, and No Fraud. On September 26, 2024, the lives of Chris, his wife Lori, and their pets were tragically upended when Hurricane Helene hit their home in St. Petersburg, Florida, destroying its interior via severe flooding and causing the near-total loss of everything they had owned, including Chris’s car. The couple had been unable to obtain affordable flood insurance for their home prior to the destruction. Presently, Chris, Lori, Chris's aunt and uncle, and their pets are all staying in a very small space in Tampa for the next several months as they figure out what to do next — with their funds running low. Local rents and real estate prices are prohibitively high in their area, and they need to stay close by to help care for Chris’s elderly mother, aunt, and uncle. They are unable to sell their home, especially in its current condition, so the most sensible plan is to restore their home and make it inhabitable once again and for them to move back in once the work has been sufficiently completed. Although they have had much generous help by local volunteers with the cleanup in the wake of the storm, the cost for doing the necessary renovation work on their home is simply beyond the couple’s means. I’m co-launching this campaign to help Chris and Lori with the crucial funding they need to make their home livable again, and to help them move back into it and get their lives back to normal as soon as possible.
