As many of you may know, Chris and Lauren have been on a very long and tearful journey to parenthood. One full of joy, heartbreak, miracles, and more heartbreak. For those of you who don’t know much about Chris & Lauren, here is their story...
Lauren and Chris met in the fall of 2009. They fell madly in love and it didn’t take long before Chris knew Lauren was “the one.” Chris proposed that following winter in 2010 and they married summer 2012. They were over the moon excited to get started on a family right away. Little did they know that starting a family would not go quite as they planned.
After years of trying to conceive and being unsuccessful, Lauren and Chris decided to consult with specialists. After a number of tests and painful procedures, they realize they have a number of issues on both sides, therefore making it highly unlikely to conceive naturally. Of course, this didn’t stop them.
It is now 2015 and they decided to begin infertility treatments. After two unsuccessful rounds of iui, Lauren is sent to have a severe case of stage 4 endometriosis removed. This definitely slows things down, but the trying and praying never ceases.
Fast forward to 2018. Chris and Lauren are planning on beginning the IVF process in the winter. Just before the opportunity arose, they receive a letter from their specialist stating that they are no longer accepting their health insurance. This is a huge setback and an even bigger heartbreak. While IVF is not covered under health insurance, it would cover office visits, ultrasounds, blood draws, etc. To say this was a knife to the heart would be an understatement. After receiving this news Lauren and Chris decide they should take a moment to reflect and come up with a plan to find new specialists.
A couple months later Lauren and Chris are presented with the blessing to adopt. They are completely overjoyed with the news, realizing this must be part of Gods plan. Giving a loving home to a little girl was just the blessing they had be waiting on. Wholeheartedly accepting that this blessing was not coming from her womb, rather the hands of God. While they are looking forward to the future with their daughter, they receive news that the adoption process is not able to move forward. Devastated by the news, and near giving up, they continue to support one another and pray for a child.
A year has now passed and it’s 2019. Lauren and Chris receive some news and are completely shocked. Their prayers have been answered! They are pregnant! On their own!! IT’S A MIRACLE!!! They spend the next few weeks planning a nursery and picking out names. Over time Lauren begins experiencing a lot of discomfort and alarming symptoms. The doctors say to rest, and of course she does exactly that. But God has other plans for baby, as she gained her wings and went home February, 2020.
Lauren and Chris continue to try to conceive, with no success. They followed up with the specialist last week and unfortunately Lauren has to be treated again for the severe and reoccurring stage 4 endometriosis. Considering both of their fertility issues, the doctor advised that IVF is the only way they can have a shot at a successful pregnancy.
This is where we’re asking for your help! So many have come to Chris and Lauren and said to let them know if there’s anything they can do. Here it is, our opportunity to help them make a baby! Our family is reaching out in the hopes that we can raise enough to help make their dreams come true! They have suffered so much pain and heartache and we only want to see them complete their family and live their happily ever after. We thank you all for your consideration and generosity. Any little bit will help them along in their journey through IVF and to being parents!
Much love,
Alesa, Rachael and Mandee
