Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Kind-Hearted Individuals,
I am writing to you today with a heavy heart, as my mother and I find ourselves in an incredibly difficult situation. My mother is 77 years old, and we have fallen behind on our property taxes. Our house is set to go to tax sale by December 19th. Despite our best efforts, we have reached a point where we cannot catch up without help.
For some time now, I have been out of work, and while I am trying my hardest to find stable employment, it has been an uphill battle. I was teaching part-time at a senior center until recently, but the pay was a pittance (anywhere from $300 to $800 a month depending on how many classes I teach). My mother relies mainly on her Social Security income, which unfortunately is not enough to cover all of our essential expenses. With our limited resources, we have done everything we can, but we are now facing the very real threat of losing our home.
We are humbly asking for any support, no matter how small, to help us stay in our home. Your generosity would go directly towards paying off the property taxes – the exact amount owed as of December 3 is $7631.64. In the unlikely event we exceed our goal, any additional funds would be reserved for essentials (additional tax payments, utilities, and/or groceries).
We understand that reaching our goal may be difficult. We don’t expect to meet the entire amount, but truly, any contribution at all would be a blessing. Whatever we receive will make a huge difference, and we would be deeply appreciative of your kindness and compassion.
Thank you for considering our appeal. Your help would be a lifeline to us in this desperate time.
Sincerely,
Chris
