Chris and his family experienced something no family should ever have to face a devastating house fire that destroyed their home and most of their belongings.

The fire started in his young son Dylan’s bedroom after a pet rat sadly chewed through an electrical wire.

Although the family managed to get out safely, the fire caused massive damage to their home and they lost almost everything they owned.

Heartbreakingly, Chris also lost his two beloved dogs, Thor and Loki, in the fire. Anyone who knows Chris knows those dogs were part of the family and meant the world to him.

Chris even ran back into the burning house trying to save them something many of us would do for the animals we love. In doing so he suffered severe smoke inhalation and ended up in hospital and in a coma. Thankfully he survived, but the loss of his dogs and the trauma of what happened has been devastating.

Dylan, also lost everything in his bedroom where the fire started.

Right now the family are safe and have somewhere to stay, but they still need help replacing basic essentials like clothing, furniture and everyday items, as well as repairing and rebuilding the damage to their home.
