Our beloved Silverback Chris Adams has been diagnosed with Stage 4 esophageal cancer. He has been an active member of the community on South Whidbey for nearly 40 years. Chris was a co-publisher for the Island Independent, the creater of Whidbey Marketplace and director of Choochokam Festival of the Arts for 10 years. He was bar manager at Mo's and bartended at Village Pizzeria and Edgecliff. He also has 3 sons that were raised here on the island, Connor, Duncan and Trey. To know Chris is to love Chris and he brings laughter, good stories and semi inappropriate jokes with him everywhere he goes.
With this cancer diagnosis he is going to need numerous treatments, many of which his insurance does not cover. These include radiation, low dose chemo treatment from Seattle Integrative Cancer Center, infusions, and hyperbaric chamber therapy. These treatments require daily trips to Everett and Tuqwila, 5-6 times a week which require Ferry boat costs and gas funds. Daily medication and feeding formulas that are not fully covered by health insurance are also extremely costly. If you have the ability to donate and help with these tremendous bills he is facing it would help Chris and his family immensely. Anything helps! Whether that be a few dollars, or sending positive thoughts, prayer and love. Let's help Chris beat this thing and alleviate the financial burden that could prevent him from getting the help we needs. Together we can help out our cherished friend and community member. Chris has decided that if there is any leftover money it will be donated to the Friends of Friends Charity.
