Give hope to a struggling single father whose doctors failed to provide critical documentation to his employer in a timely manner to help him qualify for short-term disability. The soulless company he works for took advantage of the situation and denied benefits because documentation wasn't received in time. The cherry on top of this was because of these failures to get documentation in a timely manner to get his disability checks rolling, his car just got repo'd. He is a decent guy; he has kids that he provides for, and he has just been going through it in the worst way. He cannot afford legal representation and has tried to find someone to take his case, but thus far has had no luck. Below is a copy of his letter to his former lawyer. It gives a little more insight....

Dear Mr. Briones,

I hope you have been well. I am reaching out to you because you previously represented me and successfully resolved my case, and I have a great deal of respect for your work and judgment.

I am currently facing a serious situation involving both a vehicle repossession conducted on behalf of Toyota Financial Services and prolonged administrative failures by my medical provider’s office, which directly affected my short-term disability benefits and my ability to maintain stability in my life.
Regarding Toyota:
A repossession attempt occurred in which the tow operator interfered with my vehicle before any communication took place. I exited my vehicle only as a protective response and to prevent further escalation or damage. Toyota has since taken the position that because I exited my vehicle and flagged the driver down, no breach occurred. I strongly disagree with this conclusion. The interference and confrontation occurred prior to my exit, and under established repossession standards, this defeats the requirement that a repossession be peaceful. Toyota has refused to acknowledge this sequence of events.

Regarding my medical provider:
My doctor’s office repeatedly failed to process and communicate essential short-term disability documentation in a timely manner, despite my clear communication of financial urgency. I was left waiting and waiting with no resolution, no meaningful response from management, and no accountability. When I attempted to escalate the issue, I was informed by a representative that management (including individuals identified as Jasmine and another manager whose name I was not given) would address it, but no follow-up ever occurred. This directly resulted in loss of income and placed me under extreme stress at work, where I have been closely monitored and scrutinized. I do have witnesses who can attest to irregular and questionable practices.

Because of these compounded failures, I have suffered significant financial loss, emotional distress, and personal fallout, including the loss of relationships and stability in my life during a period when I was already vulnerable and seeking medical and financial relief in good faith.

I want to be transparent: I do not currently have the financial ability to retain counsel upfront. However, I truly believe these matters have legal merit, and I am respectfully asking whether you would consider taking this case on a contingency basis or in good faith, with compensation.

Help me help Chris. If you are a single parent or know one, you know all too well the struggle is so real. My goal, with your help, is to raise $6000 to help him with immediate rent and bill needs and to retain a lawyer that will take this case and represent him well.
