Meet Chowder, ❤️
My best friend since I’ve been in high school. Chowder was found as a stray kitten outside and despite my parents saying no, I chose to take him in and raise him as a house cat. My whole family found love with him and his outgoing and hilarious personality. He became a part of the family.
Recently chowder got outside and was attacked by another male cat. It went unnoticed for weeks because there was no outside wound except a little scratch. I noticed he started acting very weird and not himself. He wouldn’t eat or drink water, it’s like his spirit and life left his eyes. days later his chest filled with a very nasty abscess. I took him to the vet and they told us to just give him antibiotics.
It progressively got worse and kept opening up and then he developed one on his cheek. It has been ongoing, and the vet told us they believe that Chowder may have FIV, which is also known as Feline immunodeficiency virus and it is one of the most common and consequential infectious diseases of cats around the world. In infected cats, FIV attacks the immune system, leaving the cat vulnerable to many other infections. I am just asking for help for his first visit and possible treatment plan as treating this disease is expensive. I am being vulnerable and asking for anybody’s help until I can figure out how to pay for this on my own. Even if you do not decide to donate, I would appreciate you if you shared Chowder’s story
Every $1 counts.
Please help my Chowder.
