My pet cat, Chosen, came up to me one day and just sat on my lap. I posted a video of the moment, and it went viral—now everyone is telling me to keep her or him. I feel like I have no choice but to welcome Chosen into my life, but it’s not easy. I already have a son, and all my money goes to him, bills, and responsibilities, so I can’t really afford to take care of a cat right now.

Chosen needs food, toys, a little bed to sleep on, and probably more things I don’t even know about yet since I’m new to caring for cats. Right now, I’m living with my granny, and she’s not having it with the cat, so I might have to get my own place just to keep Chosen safe and happy. It’s really hard to accept this cat right now, but I want to do my best for her or him.
