Chocolate was rescued from a filthy cage in the middle of a field on Friday, thanks to a neighbor on Nextdoor reaching out. I was able to take him in, and have committed to giving him a permanent home. Unfortunately, this comes at a time where I don't have the funds for everything he needs. He needs to get vaccinated, be neutered and have a wellness check. We are keeping our fingers crossed, but especially considering the conditions he was living in, we are unsure of what his health status is.
I was hesitant to ask for help, but if I can't pay my rent (these funds will go directly to Chocolate's vet care, I will figure out my own bills), I can't keep a roof over his head. I will pay for everything possible on my own, but anything in this situation helps.
A couple of neighbors have reached out offering to help already, and I just have to say that the love and generosity has been felt, and is beyond appreciated.
Chocolate is still a little shy, and getting his bearings, but he is fitting in with our family really well so far. He is a sweet, quiet and gentle boy that just needs stability and love (and vet care!)
