Welcome to the soulful world of Choca Blues — a band where blues meets the world. Born on the shores of Lake Atitlán in San Marcos La Laguna, Guatemala, our music blends the deep roots of the blues with the global flavors of our multinational backgrounds: Guatemala, the United States, and the Netherlands.

Led by the magnetic Delta Dina, with Carlos Funk on his signature National Resonator Style O and other guitars, Carol ‘The Bounce’ Ignius on bass, and Whitney ‘The Wind’ Petty on drums and mandolin, we are a collective brought together by musical fate and fueled by a passion for authentic sound.

We’re thrilled to share that we’ve just wrapped up recording our second album! This project has been entirely self-funded — using a percentage of every gig, your generous tips, and CD sales. With your support, we’ve made it this far — but now, we need a little extra help to finish strong.

Our second album, like the first one, is entirely self-funded — through a percentage of what we earn at every gig, plus all the tips, CD sales and love you’ve given us along the way. We’ve poured our hearts, time and energy into getting it recorded.

Now we’re asking for your help to bring it across the finish line.

This time around, we’re collaborating with other producers and mastering engineers to really elevate our sound. These professionals will help shape the album in powerful new ways — but of course, that comes at a higher cost. While we’re on a short break from performing (and let’s be real — Guatemala isn’t the easiest place to generate album budgets), we’re turning to our global family for support.
