As many of you already know, our daughter Chloe was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia just after her first birthday in 2019. She underwent 2.5 years of intense chemotherapy and celebrated with her "Make a Wish" trip at the end of 2022 at Disney World. It has since become one of her most favorite places in the world.

While we lived in South Carolina for a brief time, I was able to take Chloe to Disney another two times which only built her love for the parks.

In June of this year, we were devastated to learn that Chloe's leukemia had returned. This was completely unexpected as Chloe did so well with her treatment the first go around, and she was considered "low risk" the first time. She didn't even have symptoms of relapse really, we just happened to discover it during a routine blood check for her. It completely upended all of our lives in the worst way. We left South Carolina immediately to return to Virginia so we could be back with our family while Chloe began the whole treatment process over again. She has to take more chemo, stronger and more intense this time, for another 2.5+ years.

In the true nature of a 6 year old, one of her questions when the dust had settled a bit was "Does this mean I get to go on another Wish trip to Disney?" with a giant smile on her face. I started to look into this right away for her, knowing we needed something to look forward to. We were pretty disheartened to learn that most Wish charities do not offer second wishes for any reason. After hours of googling, I did find a few foundations that specialize in second wishes, but Chloe only qualified for one which has an extensive wait list with no guarantee they will be able to approve it. The rest only operate in certain states, or are closed off to new applicants.

I asked Chloe what her biggest wish is, if she could do anything or go anywhere. We discussed the different places around the world, different options of experiences around us, room makeovers, etc. For months, the only response she has to this is "a fancy Disney trip!!" She says that she dreams of eating Mickey waffles, watching the fireworks shows every night, riding Astro Orbiter at night to pretend she is an astronaut, to meet her favorite princesses, and to stay in one of their "fancy" hotels this time where she can see the fireworks from her very own room in case she gets too tired to go in person.

Now that I have written a novel, all of this is to say that I am setting up this GoFundMe on behalf of Chloe so that we may have the fund to take her on another "Wish" trip as she so desperately desires, even if we can't find a charity who can help us make this happen.

100% of your donation will go towards Chloe's Disney trip. It will allow us to get her a room at a "fancy" hotel where she can see the fireworks which we cannot afford on our own. It will allow her to get all of the extra snacks her heart desires, to buy some gifts for herself at the gift shop, to make a dining reservation at a "fancy" restaurant where the characters come to meet you. All of the things we have never been able to do because we have pinched pennies and stayed at the cheapest location, went at the cheapest time, said no to most gift shop asks. This will all go toward making this the most memorable trip where we can say "yes" to anything her heart desires this time and really soak in the Disney magic.

By the time Chloe is 8, she will have spent 5 years of her life under active treatment for her cancer. She has missed countless hours of socialization, school, play dates, and all of the other things one would get in a normal childhood. She will have spent many weeks and months admitted to the hospital for treatment and side effect management. She continues to fight and remains a happy and bubbly child who has so much compassion for others. She deserves the world, and to those of you who have had the pleasure of meeting her know just truly how special she is and how deserving of this she is as well. If her biggest wish this time is a "fancy" Disney World trip, we will work to make that happen for her however we can. Thank you all for your love and support ALWAYS!
