On Thursday, Patrick came home to something no pet parent ever wants to see -- our sweet girl Chloe was unable to move her back legs. He rushed her to the emergency animal hospital, where we were given heartbreaking news: Chloe somehow had a slipped disc and there was a chance she could be paralyzed for life. We were sent home with medications and told to wait a week and hope for improvement but by the next day her condition had worsened. Knowing we couldn’t wait, we brought her to Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Eatontown, where the team confirmed that emergency surgery was her best chance at walking again.

Chloe has since undergone surgery to repair the slipped disc. While we are incredibly grateful she made it through, her recovery is still uncertain, with about a 70% chance of success. We are staying hopeful and doing everything we can to give her the best chance at a full recovery. Chloe is more than just a pet; she is family. She is loving, playful, and brings so much joy into our lives every single day. Seeing her like this has been absolutely heartbreaking.

Unfortunately, the cost of her emergency care, surgery, and ongoing treatment has quickly become overwhelming.
