Help Chloe Takoda Moser pay their Medical bills
Donation protected
Hi my name is Anika and I'm fundraising to help Chloe Takoda Moser pay for medical bills and wage loss related to her recent health crisis that resulted in an emergency ER visit and 5 day stay at Fairview Medical.
On Friday January 5th, Chloe Takoda became very sick with a fever reaching 102 over the course of a few days. During this time, what appeared to be a regular menstrual cycle, resulted in an abnormal amount of blood loss. Chloe Takoda’s fever broke, however continued blood loss alerted her that this was outside regular menstrual abnormality that can occur during immune responses to illness. Chloe Takoda’s blood loss became more extreme causing nose bleeds, bleeding gums and blood in their vomit.
On Thursday the 11th they were rushed to the ER and were transferred to Fairview Riverside for a 5 day hospital stay. Chloe Takoda was diagnosed with Immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), an autoimmune disease that attacks the blood at platelets, keeping the body from clotting. While the average human has 150,000-450,000 platelets per microliter of blood, upon hospital entry, her platelet count had fallen to 5. During their hospital stay, Chloe Takoda received 21 different infusions to raise their platelet count and to stop the bleeding.
Chloe Takoda was lucky to receive treatment when they did because this extreme amount of blood loss can cause internal bleeding, particularly fatal when it occurs in the brain.
Upon release on January 15th, doctors ordered 6 weeks of continued treatment including monitoring blood work and administering platelet infusions. On March 6th, Chloe Takoda will meet with a hematologist to discuss progress.
This medical incident has resulted in significant financial impacts for Chloe Takoda including a cumulative three weeks of lost wages between their initial illness and their hospital stay and recovery period. This amounts to about 3,500 in lost wages. While they return to work on February 1st, they are only able to work two days per week to ensure they don’t over-stress their compromised immune system.
Your support will help Chloe Takoda pay for wage loss, medical bills, rent and other monthly bills.
