Geoff's Racing Legacy for his Girls

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Geoffrey John Almas at his home on Sunday, January 16th, 2022, in his 47th year. He will be dearly missed by his two daughters who were his pride and joy, Chloe & Shelby. Cherished son of Jack & Janet Almas, and grandson of Velma Almas. Geoff will be remembered by his sister Karen (John) Dorgelo, brother Tyson (Maryann) Almas, his niece and nephews, and cherished by lifelong friends Trevor Dunn and Johnny Roy. Geoff and his Dad own Almas Garage and Towing where he worked all his life from a young age, then becoming a mechanic, and partnering with his Dad. Growing up he enjoyed spending time with his friends, playing hockey, baseball and snowmobiling. For the last 10 years, he took up the Almas ‘passion’ for racing, following his late Grandpa Bev, and his Dad to become the crew chief, mechanic, bank and biggest cheerleader for his daughters’ love of drag racing. They spent many great weekends with family and friends at the Grand Bend Motorplex. He greatly loved his family, friends and race family and was always willing to help out and if he didn’t know how he’d ‘Figure it Out’. He also had a love of music and often spent the long drives back and forth to the track jamming with his girls. Geoff’s memory and heart live on in his daughters – ‘Cherish the memories as we embrace the pain and burn it as fuel for our journey’ - Unknown

Hi, I am Sammy Woodhouse. I have been a close family friend to the Almas family for 7 years now. Over the years I have been able to watch my two best friends drag race with their father. Chloe and Shelby have a love for racing and the need for speed just like their dad Geoff. I am creating this Go Fund Me in order to ensure they have a successful race season for this coming summer.
