Help Chloe Hear

Donation protected

This is my daughter Chloe who just turned 4 months on October 1st. She is a really happy baby as you can see in the pictures. Nobody would suspect that there is something missing.
When she was born she didn't pass her initial hearing test in the hospital, but we didn't worry too much about it as they said fluids can remain in the ear and we should return for another test in 2 weeks. We went to multiple follow up tests, pediatricians and hearing specialists. The test results finally lead us to the conclusion that Chloe was born deaf due to Autosomal recessive inheritance because both I and my wife unknowingly carry genetic mutations.

It was devastating for us and endless questions arose about why and how and what's going to be next.

At the moment we are going to weekly therapy sessions with Chloe to stimulate her while she is wearing hearing aids, hoping that there will be some kind of improvement, but the doctors have already told us that she will need to get cochlear implants for both ears.

Babies need to be at least 6 months old before the surgery can take place and we are hoping that she will be able to undergo the procedure at the end of this year in December, just before Christmas, in order to help her hear and learn how to speak as soon as possible.

All funds we receive will be solely used for her implants, which are priced at 30,000.00 USD each, not including the surgery or any follow-up meetings or therapy. We are asking family and friends to support us in order to cover the costs of the surgery and any treatment that is going to be necessary, but we won't be able to collect enough money to afford the two cochlear implants. Our only way is to reach out to all of you, who read Chloe's story, to ask for help and the necessary funds to enable our daughter to hear and hopefully have a close to normal development and life.

The unexpected happened to Chloe, something nobody wishes for somebody else to happen, especially not to an innocent baby who doesn't even know yet what her life is going to look like. Now we are hoping to achieve something that seems so impossible to us, to raise the funds that will lay the foundation for Chloe to have a happy life.

Chloe, my wife, and I, we thank you all, so very much!
