Hello, my name is Chloe I'm 29 years old, I identify as Non-Binary and I go by They/Them pronouns. I've been openly out to family, friends and work for over a year but have been questioning my identity for most of my life.
I am finally in a place where I feel comfortable with my identity and that feels amazing!
The next step I want to take in my transition is to get top surgery. Having the chest that I do causes me a lot of dysphoria and anxiety every single day. It gives me a lot of confidence issues in what I wear and how I hold myself physically.
I currently bind my chest with a binder and have done for over 6 years, but this is now starting to take its toll on my body. I get back and rib pain every single day and am sometimes forced to bind my chest for longer than the recommended use because of work and going out etc.
Wearing a binder also holds me back from doing exercise that I love due to the compression on my chest as it can make it hard to breathe! I love to run, but this cuts it short a lot of the time!
Top surgery would allow me to have a better quality of life and give me the confidence that I have missed out on for the majority of my life. It would let me be at peace with my body and finally feel free!
The money I am trying to raise will help with the overall costs of everything such as:
Top surgery referral with Gendercare (potentially 2 visits)
Top surgery consultation with my chosen surgeon (Peter Kneeshaw - Hull)
Top surgery costs itself
I've estimated the overall costs to be about £8000, of which I intend to try to save up the majority of myself, alongside my wife who is extremely supportive!
But I would really appreciate some extra help along the way. Any donation all goes towards this big step I need to take in my life and I thank you for your support!
My wife will be opening up an Etsy shop in the next coming weeks where she will be selling some of her crochet goodies! All proceeds made from the purchases will go towards my surgery. I shall post the link when it's up and running!
If I manage to save enough money and have extra left over, I plan on donating the extra money to The Norfolk LGBT+ Project as a big thank you to them for helping me along my journey of discovery from such a young age. They've been incredible and I want to give back to them.
Thank you for your time reading through this and for your donations. It really does mean a lot to me.
Chloe :)
