Like all teens, Chloe is at an age where she is longing for more independence. Navigating public spaces, including school, has long been a challenge. Her care team is in agreement that a service dog will help her feel more capable and confident as she begins to make more outings with peers or on her own. We have been pursuing the option of a service dog for over a year. After being approved at an organization that has a potential waitlist time of several years, we have decided the best option is to adopt a 10 month old puppy that had been "started" by the organization.
This reduces the cost (believe it or not) and the wait time, but still allows us the support of the organization as we "finish" the training ourselves.
We greatly appreciate any support you can give us to help to get to the goal amount needed!
