Please Help Chloe Fight Melanoma Stage 4

Donation protected
Hello Everyone,

UPDATE: We would like to thank every single person who has shared, donated and messaged so far. This means the absolute world to us ❤️❤️

Together with your support, the funds raised will directly help Chloe face this devastating illness with absolute determination and help alleviate the financial worry of being unable to work.

Please believe us when we say that this is really hard to write.

You may already know about our daughter Chloe’s story which started with being diagnosed with Melanoma Stage 1B at only 19yrs old. She received treatment for this and remained under the care of the RVI, Newcastle.

Only 4 years later her life changed unimaginably when in February this year she was given the devastating news that this had progressed to Metastatic Melanoma Stage 4. Tumours were found in numerous places. One tumour in particular was found in her brain and required immediate treatment. Chloe endured immediate Brain Surgery, followed by radiotherapy. After several tests and scans Chloe was given the news that she would receive immunotherapy. This has given some hope as it offers the best prognosis.

Our joy didn’t last too long though as after her first session in April, Chloe took a rare reaction to the treatment which led to an anxious 10 day stay in hospital. After adjusting the immunotherapy treatment she is now currently receiving immunotherapy every 4 weeks at The Freeman Hospital, Newcastle. Unfortunately this treatment brings other issues with it and with various unpleasant and worrying reactions means that Chloe is regularly travelling down to The Freeman to get these checked out and treated.

Despite the most horrendous diagnosis, surgery and ongoing complications of treatment Chloe continues to face all this with such a positive attitude and a smile on her face. In addition she has not only raised awareness of Melanoma, but fundraising efforts for both Cancer Research and The Teenage & Young Adults Trust have reached well over £23,000.

As well as dealing with the tough battle ahead Chloe now finds herself in the worrying position of now being unemployed. This has added a huge amount of stress on what is already a truly awful journey. Chloe and her partner Ben only moved into their first home together just last year. Unfortunately, due to Chloe’s initial diagnosis 4 years ago, she was unable to secure Life Insurance and Critical Illness cover. Please, please, if you haven’t already got this in place consider looking at Life Insurance & Critical Illness policies. It’s not something people really think about until you are looking at buying a house - this cover is not just for when you need a mortgage - we would hate to see other people in this situation.

Chloe is an extremely proud person and has always done everything by herself to get to where she is today- she would never dream of asking for help. Unfortunately, with the current circumstances, we now just want her to focus on getting better and not to worry about finances.

We have already been overwhelmed with the kindness and generosity of people’s donations to the mentioned charities above, but we are asking everyone to come together, and if you can donate in anyway, this will help remove some financial stress to allow Chloe to fight this awful disease.

Anything raised from this Go Fund Me will certainly help Chloe fight the toughest battle of her life.

Thank You

Gail & David
