Help Chip Restore Cruise Inn and Throttle Down Bar

My name is Elayna Conner and I am working to raise money for my Uncle who lost his restaurant and bar to a fire on Friday morning, October 25th. My Uncle and Aunt (Chip and Evie Meyers) became the owners of the Cruise Inn and Throttle Down Bar and Grill back in 2006. This was a dream of their’s as my Uncle loves to entertain family and friends and my Aunt was an amazing singer. My Uncle would bartend and cook while my Aunt would sing for their guests. They worked hard to upgrade this beautiful motel, restaurant and bar and it was something all of their repeat customers could come to rest, relax and be “part of the family”. My Aunt passed away in January 2023, leaving my Uncle to run it all himself. He turned to his stepdaughter and her husband for help with every aspect of running the motel, restaurant and bar. A few months ago my Uncle found out that his stepdaughter and her husband had stolen all of the revenue he and my Aunt had worked so hard to generate from the motel, restaurant and bar. Fast forward to the early hours of Friday morning, he wakes to find both the restaurant and bar in flames. As any good business owner would do, my Uncle reached out to his insurance company immediately to inform them of this tragedy. As if the fire didn’t cause enough damage, the insurance company informs him that his stepdaughter, who was helping with the motel books, had not been paying the insurance premiums and therefore the motel does not have coverage. My Aunt and Uncle are hard workers who only wanted to bring fun and joy to their customers. This is why I have started the GoFundMe account on his behalf. He is too humble to ask for help but now being left with just the motel, the need to repair the restaurant and bar is critical

for him to continue. This is his livelihood and his way to continue to keep the memory of my Aunt alive and in all of our hearts.
