Hello, my name is Blessing Chioma Uzor, and I’m currently studying for my Master’s degree in Management at the University of Salford. This has been a dream of mine for a long time, and starting my course in June 2025 meant everything to me.
In September 2025, my life suddenly changed. It started as a chest infection turned into pneumonia, then complications with my kidneys, and at one point, I had to undergo brain surgery and it was so critical I had to be in the ICU.
I was in the hospital from September 2025 until March 2026 which is 7 months during my one year degree. During that time, everything stopped. My studies, my work, my routine, everything I had worked so hard to build just paused all of a sudden. Instead of school fees all my funds was directed towards hospital bills.
There were moments I didn’t even know how I would get back to normal life, let alone return to school.
But somehow, I did. I came back, and I kept pushing because this is what I always wanted.
Right now, I’m in the final stage of my degree, working on my dissertation. I’m so close to finishing something I started with so much hope.
My total tuition fee is £16,000, I have paid £10,000 and because of everything that happened, I still have £6,000 left to pay and I need to pay this by June 2nd 2026. If I can’t, I risk losing my place at university and my visa status.
And after everything I’ve been through, it’s really hard to accept that this dream could come to an end when I’m this close.
This journey hasn’t been easy, but it means so much to me. Finishing this degree isn’t just about school but it’s about everything I’ve overcome to get here.
I’m asking for help because I don’t want this to be where my story ends. Any support at all would truly mean the world to me and would help me complete what I started.
If you’re not able to donate, please consider sharing my story.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any support you can give.
