Hi, my name is Krystal, and I’m reaching out for help for my baby Chino.

My dog Chino is more than a pet. He’s my emotional support, my best friend, and my lifeline. He’s been with me through some of the toughest times (i've had a lot of tough times), he's always been there to give me comfort, stability, and most importantly unconditional love. I take him everywhere I go and everyone who meets him falls in love! Right now, Chino is in urgent need of emergency care as well as surgery, and we need help.

Chino was recently diagnosed with Canine Chronic Ulcerative Stomatitis (CCUS). This is a severe, painful inflammation of the mouth and gums. It causes chronic pain, swollen gums, bad breath, and loss of appetite. He needs to have a full extraction of his teeth. My mom started the process for this and had a date for surgery, but unfortunately the other day Chino was having difficulty breathing and he was shaking. My mom took him to the emergency vet. They had to do a lot of blood work and x-rays. After 6 hours of being there, they decided to keep him for 48 to 72 hours, because he has pneumonia. They have to keep him in an oxygen box and he is wearing an IV for fluids and antibiotics. My mom was already trying to figure out how to pay for his surgery, this hospital visit has made things even more difficult, because it's another thing that costs a lot. Even though Chino is my dog, my whole family loves him as theirs too. We're all very sad, but my mom said whatever she can do she will. I know she struggles already, so I feel like anything I can do to help I will. I'm looking for a job, but I haven't gotten one yet. So, this was another idea I had to reach out for help. I know this is a lot of money and we won't get all of it, but every little bit counts and makes a difference.

The estimated cost for his treatment and recovery is about $14, 300. Unfortunately, I know she can’t cover this alone.
