☀️ Help Conservly Fight Extreme Heat in Southern California
16 Chino High School Students. One Mission. Protect Our Community.
Who We Are
Conservly is a student-led nonprofit founded by 16 students at Chino High School. Our mission is to address the extreme heat crisis in Southern California and now across North America and around the world with our region partners.
In Inland Empire in Southern California , summer temperatures often soar above 100°F and that creates real, dangerous challenges, especially for underserved communities that may not have reliable access to air conditioning, shade, water, sunscreen, or other basic protections.
We approach this problem in two ways:
- Direct Support - We assemble and distribute heat relief kits to the people who are most vulnerable.
- Long-Term Solutions - We support community-based efforts like tree planting, shade installation, and outreach to help create cooler, safer neighborhoods.
At its core, Conservly is about combining immediate action with long-term environmental solutions to protect the communities most affected by extreme heat.
Why Conservly Started
Conservly began with a moment that changed everything.
"During a very hot summer day at Boy Scout camp, one of the scouts near our founding member experienced a serious heat-related medical emergency. Seeing that made the issue feel very real. It made our founder start asking - why are so many people still vulnerable to extreme heat, especially when basic protections like shade, water, and cooling resources can make such a big difference?"
That experience led to deeper research, science fair projects on heat and its community impact, and conversations with researchers and professionals - all of which confirmed that extreme heat is a real and growing crisis that demands both awareness and action.
Conservly is the result: a student-led effort to turn concern into something tangible.
What We're Doing Right Now
- This Summer - Heat Kit Drives
Extreme heat is approaching fast. Our immediate priority is assembling and distributing heat relief kits containing water, sunscreen, cooling supplies, and other basic protections to community members who need them most.
- This Fall - Greener, Cooler Spaces
We plan to expand into local environmental projects like tree planting, landscaping, and shade installation working with community partners to create cooler, more shaded public spaces for the long term.
How Your Donation Helps
- $25 Provides heat relief supplies for 2-3 individuals
- $50 Funds a full heat relief kit distribution drive
- $100 Supports a community tree planting or shade project
Help Us Reach our Goal
- We're 16 high school students, but together with your support - we can make a real difference for the families and communities most affected by extreme heat.
- Your donation will fund heat relief kits for this summer AND kickstart our second tree planting project this fall.
- Every dollar counts. Every share helps. Every donation saves lives.
