Help Chilly Willy Survive a Miracle!

As a loving and caring member of the San Juan Del Sur and Costa Dulce community, we wanted to share with you that our beloved William Lara, was in a traumatic motorcycle accident on October 29th where he sustained severe injuries, including a ruptured spleen, 30% blood loss resulting in a blood transfusion, a broken chin, cheek bone and shoulder, which is not including the minor injuries. Miraculously, he is stable, conscious and making good progress from his first surgery but he still has a long way to go.

While we are beyond grateful for the initial care William received. In order to ensure safe, clean and comfortable care, we have relocated him to a private hospital for the remaining surgeries as it will make a tremendous difference in Willy’s recovery. Which is why we are asking for your support.

There is no doubt that if you’ve had the opportunity to meet William that he has made a positive impact in your life and we’re certain there’s a good story behind every encounter.

As a great friend to all, surfer, soccer player, guitar player and most importantly a father to his beautiful son, Liam. We are hoping that everyone in the community and around the world who’s been lucky enough to get to know Willy, could help him in such desperate times.

As this is going to be a long road to recovery, we want to make sure he has the best possible outcome. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support in this challenging chapter. No donation is too small and will help us to get to our goal to get him into surgery as soon as possible. We know Chilly Willy is strong and we want to get him home as soon as possible. All proceeds will go to his stay at the private hospital medical bills, and any further ongoing care. Since he will be unable to work for quite some time, we also want to make sure his little man is supported financially. Any funds remaining will be donated to the families in the community and to those in need.

UPDATE TO DONORS:

We increased the goal value as we weren't fully aware of the costs (USD). We are currently looking at a bill starting around 9000 USD which doesn't include post op care - I will be posting updates below on his progress to keep you all informed along the way.
