HI! My name is Sasha Idema, I am helping out a wonderful local rescue based in Squamish, Pawsitive Animal Rescue.
They are a passionate family of animal-loving women committed to rescuing abused, homeless, and neglected animals, including those victimized by backyard breeders.
Each animal in their care receives essential veterinary attention before finding their forever homes. This includes wellness checks in California and Mexico, spaying/neutering, up-to-date vaccinations, and microchipping in most cases.
Unlike traditional kennels, their dogs live as cherished members of their family or with foster families in their community, not in a kennel building.
Their Mission:
They're dedicated to rescuing domestic animals in urgent need, particularly from regions deeply impacted by poverty, recession, and overpopulation.
We ensure every animal in our rescue is provided with the appropriate vet care before finding them forever-loving homes. This includes a wellness check before they leave California and Mexico, spay/neuter, vaccinations to date, and a microchip in most cases.
"Restore Chilli's Joy: Dental Care & Paw Treatment for a Courageous Senior Pup"
Chilli, an eight-year-old former street dog from Tijuana, has been under our care for about a year in a loving foster home in Mexico. Despite her challenging past, she's made significant progress since her arrival three weeks ago, but she still faces some significant health hurdles.
Chilli is a timid soul who quickly bonds with her caregiver. Unfortunately, her teeth show the harsh realities of her life on the streets. Many are worn down or missing, likely due to years of scavenging for food. Additionally, her front paw may require extensive surgery or ongoing treatment for arthritis, which could prove costly.
We're reaching out for support to cover the expenses for Chilli's much-needed dental work and potential paw surgery. The estimated cost for her dental care alone is at least $2500, with an additional potential cost of $1200 for her paw treatment. This includes procedures such as cleaning, x-rays, extractions, pain management, and addressing potential complications.
Furthermore, we're also seeking assistance to cover the medical expenses of another senior dog in our care. This dog recently underwent tumor removal surgery, which incurred a cost of $1200. The adopter, also a senior on a fixed income, graciously opened their heart to this senior dog, and we covered the surgery costs. However, as a small rescue organization, we rely solely on donations, and funds are limited.
Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a tangible difference in Chilli's life and the life of another deserving senior dog. Together, let's ensure they receive the care and comfort they deserve in their golden years. Thank you for your generosity and support.
