We are the family of Mookie Donovan. As many of you know, we tragically lost Mookie on June 17th and are dealing with this tremendous and sudden loss. We are also trying to make sure his dog, Chili, is taken care of. Chili was hit by a bus on Colfax last month, trying to follow Mookie when he went back to work. Thanks to Demi's Animal rescue, Chili received his initial emergency care. But Chili has a long road ahead. Because of his injuries, he will face several surgical and medical procedures in the coming weeks and he will need after-care for some time while his broken bones heal. But the light is still in his eyes and his tail is still trying to wag. But he misses his Dad and his life is forever changed.

Chili is not just Mookie's dog but his life partner, the light of his life, and the thing he cared about more than anything else. The best way to honor Mookie's life and memory is to help us get Chili the veterinary care he needs and onto his road to recovery, healthy and ready for his new forever home. That is what Mookie would want more than anything else in the world.

We know many of you are planning celebrations of Mookie's life and that means everything to us. But we also hope you can celebrate and honor Mookie's life by helping his Chili Dog.

Any excess funds over Chili's care will go back to Demi's Animal Rescue for other animals in need.
