My name is Ava Tilak, and Children With Hair Loss is a cause that I've been dedicated to ever since I donated my hair for the first time in first grade. I made the decision after seeing a little girl at one of my dance recitals with no hair on her head, likely due to alopecia or chemotherapy. Despite not knowing her, this person acted as a catalyst for my immediate dedication to offering my hair up to someone who needed it more. Now a five-time donator (and counting!), I decided to push my mission further.

A year ago, I began COPE, or Caring for Others' Psychological needs with Empathy. What started as a school club has expanded into a local organization that raises awareness around the physical and psychological detriment on those suffering from hair loss.
