Help Children See "Black Panther"

Donation protected
The release of Marvel's film the "Black Panther" is a rare opportunity for young students (primarily of color) to see a black major cinematic and comic book character come to life. This representation is truly fundamental for young people, especially those who are often underserved, unprivileged, and marginalized both nationally and globally.

Clarkisha Kent of writes about the importance of the Black Panther film "Black Panther remains socially and culturally relevant because it imagines a world where black people continually triumph over the influences of capitalism, Western imperialism and white supremacy."

The Boys and Girls Club of Harlem (BGCHarlem)
was founded in 1980 with the purpose of providing a safe, positive, and supportive place for youth which fosters learning and quality relationships, which can have a significant impact on their lives. Also of paramount importance at the time, BGCHarlem founders set out to create a community-focused organization that would uphold high ethical standards in all areas, especially in overseeing organizational finances, reporting data on membership and community outreach efforts, while being good stewards of donor dollars and representing itself to the public with the highest of standards.
