I have set up this GoFundMe on behalf of Bbuule Shafic and the orphaned children of Wabigalo Divine Children Care Community Based Organisation in Uganda.

The orphanage is fully registered and was set up in 2017 by Bbuule Shafic. It is located in the Ttamu Ward, Mityana District of rural Uganda.

In 2017 Bbuule, who was himself an orphan, was working at a good full-time job. He decided to set up an orphanage to help children going through similar experiences to those he had gone through. At the time, Bbuule was able to support himself and take in four orphans; Esther, Margret, Sulhainah and Arthur. He was also able to pay their school fees.

With his helpers, Bbuule also offered assistance to single mothers and the elderly in the local area.

When the Covid 19 pandemic struck, it had a devastating effect on the situation.

The business where Bbuule worked closed, he lost his job, and sadly more children became orphans because of covid.

There are 20 children dependent on the orphanage, and they are genuinely struggling to make ends meet.

Bbuule has managed to keep things going for a short while with his savings and part-time jobs but with very low pay.

Whilst efforts are being made to gain assistance from organisations working in Uganda; the process can be prolonged and not guaranteed because there are so many in need of help.

The priorities are: keeping the children safe and well-nourished and affording the school fees for next term.

About the Children;

The children at the orphanage are shielded from the true urgency of the situation by Bbuule and his helpers and are kept to feel happy as young children naturally are. Bbuule is dedicated to them. They live as a family, taking care of each other with what little they have.

Like all young children, many of them have aspirations about what they would like to do in the future to make a difference in the world; doctors, nurses, teachers, artists, and musicians. Some of the children are too young to have those thoughts yet.

This is why school is critical to these children, to work towards their dreams of gainful employment.

School fees are Primary school $300, Secondary level $450 per term.

It costs $5 a day to feed a child.
