Help Children in Mexico build a Soccer Field!
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Lola Moreno and my entire extended family lives in Mexico. My cousins live in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila to be specific. Last summer, when I was visiting them, my little cousin begged me to come watch his soccer game, since I’ve played my whole life, and he loves when I coach him. When I showed up to the field (if one can even call it that), I was utterly confused. We were in the middle of a bunch of little houses, standing on a dirt patch, with no goals in sight. That’s when I saw my cousin and all his teammates go running behind one of the houses, and after about 5 minutes, they came back carrying a small goal. I asked them why they didn’t just leave the goals on the field and they explained that the goals would get stolen, so they must hide them everyday. They then continued to play on this large dirt patch with a small, flat ball, and most with no cleats.
When I came back home I was lucky enough to collect hundreds of jerseys, cleats, socks, sweatpants, and hoodies from all my friends who I played soccer with. When I went back to Mexico to give them the gear, I had never seen a group of kids so happy.
My goal with this GoFundMe is to raise $5,000 so that we can install a small pitch for the community in Coahuila, Rosita.
