Help Ukrainian Children With Special Needs
Donation protected
I am one of the volunteers currently working to accommodate, resettle, and support Ukrainian children with disabilities and their mothers.
From the first days of Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine, due to your support, we’ve done a great job:
1. We’ve made contact with more than 300 people. Our team assisted the families in arranging travel to Georgia. In the first month, we were able to obtain 71 (seventy-one) airline tickets and help children with disabilities and their moms get on the flights here.
2. Our volunteers greeted Ukrainian families at the Kutaisi airport, where they could have lunch before driving to Ureki. Our six drivers have made 22 trips so far.
3. In the meantime, we have prepared three guest houses. The owners of each guest house are offering free accommodation to Ukrainian refugees for 2-3 months. The families now live in comfortable 2- and 3-bed guest rooms, where they have hot water and heating. Each guest house has a spacious yard where kids can play outdoors.
4. A team of six volunteers takes care of preparing three meals a day. Every day they cook for our fifty-six guests who are staying at the three hotels. Notably, the adults aren’t the only ones cooking. Children of Inclusive Practices also contribute. A local family opened their kitchen for our team to cook. Three times a day, volunteers promptly deliver hot meals to all of our guests.
5. Another group of six volunteers is tasked with procuring groceries, essential goods, and medicine.
6. Our work is unique in that every activity is aimed at fostering a positive emotional state in each family. This helps the kids with special needs feel safe and release any emotional tensions. Within two months (March and April) we arranged 16 day trips, 83 training sessions, 27 lectures for parents, and about 100 counseling sessions.
7. In the meantime, Ukrainian families can participate in a variety of activities. Games and athletic events, art workshops, darts competitions, master classes in vocal, choreography, and gymnastics, virtual trips and day trips to the city of Batumi, as well as visits to the Musical Park in Shekvetili, Tsvermagala Amusement Park, and Golden Lake in Poti.
We publish updates on the work we have done every day.

We are very thankful to everyone who made it possible for support and donations. This is very important.
Unfortunately, there is no indication that the war will end any time soon. Therefore, families aren't able to return to their homes in Ukraine.
They are forced to remain in Ureki for a longer period. Therefore, financial support is extremely important now.
According to preliminary calculations, 14 families will stay under our care from May 1st. They are 14 children 6-18 years old with disabilities including autism, Down syndrome, epilepsy, and cerebral palsy accompanied by 28 family members (parents and siblings).
An average of $900 is needed to support a family of three for a month. This includes accommodation, food, basic necessities, social and psychological support.
Thus, it takes about $12,600 to provide for 14 families (42 people) for a month.
$12,600 in May
$12,600 in June
$12,600 in July
$12,600 in August.
“Inclusive Practices” team and I do our best to reduce the costs of safe stay of the families. Nevertheless, we are taking care of creating a positive emotionally supportive atmosphere in each family which helps the kids with special needs feel safe and release any emotional tensions.
Children with disabilities still need your help and donations:
For $30, you will provide for a family of 3 for a day
For $210, you will support a family of 3 for a week
For $420, you will support a family of 3 for two weeks
For $900, you will support a family of 3 for a month
Thank you for your support!
