The Sidewalk School is still here—just in a new way.
In Mexico, we continue assisting by supporting the shelters. But classes are no longer running—there are no children left in the shelters we once served.
Now, much of our work has shifted to the U.S. side. We attend immigration removal proceedings—what is essentially deportation court for adults and children—as legal observers. Each week, we document and share what happens in these hearings: the impact of current U.S. immigration laws and policies, how families are separated, and how people are detained after court.
Our goal is simple: to shine a light on what’s happening so more Americans understand the reality of these policies and how they affect people, families, and communities.
To continue this work, we need your support. Your donations make it possible for us to keep showing up, documenting, and sharing these stories. Every week we’ll keep posting updates so you can see exactly where your money is going and the difference it makes.
