Help Chief Baker/Janet Baker’s Medical Needs

‘Fill the boot’ for Chief Baker/Janet Baker’s Medical Needs My name is Beatriz Cauzza. I am organizing this GoFundMe for a couple who is so dear to my heart, Janet and Jim Baker. Earlier this year in May Mrs. Baker was diagnosed with Lewy Body Demnetia. Within the first 26 days of that diagnosis Mr. Baker spent $143,000 on medical bills that were not covered by their insurance. After trying several times to keep Mrs. Baker at home so he could care for her things got way too difficult and dangerous for the both of them. He then moved her to his daughter Karen’s home so he could have more help in caring for her as a team, but her condition and needs outweighed their efforts. Mr. Baker had to make the extremely hard decision to put Mrs. Baker in a memory care facility in Escondido. He chose the absolute best he could for his precious wife. But unfortunately their insurance does not cover the home and he has been paying for all medical bills since then out of their savings. He is now to a point where he is running out of funds, and I know anything that is raised here will be so greatly appreciated by him and his family. Growing up the Bakers were my neighbors whom I met at the young age of 5. I look at them as grandparents and mentors. I was honored when Chief Baker married my husband and I back in 2015. I can’t think of a kinder more generous loving couple. Mr. Baker has the most selfless caring nature. He served as a firefighter for 41 years and became the chief of Del Mar. He selflessly served our country during the Korean War in the Marines. Everyone who knows him can tell you a story of how he has helped or inspired them in one way or another. In return I would love to help raise this money for all his future medical bills towards his wife’s care in this very difficult time. And of course for any other expenses he may need for himself as well. Mrs. Bakers health is detiororating rapidly and sadly her memory fades by the day. But I know Mr. Baker is focused on giving her the best care he can, because his love for his wife is priceless. Please help me in supporting the Bakers through this tough time. Anything helps and of course faith and prayer are stronger than anything.
